Halfway There: Violinists, Guitarists and the Mandolin
Learning to play an instrument, the biggest obstacles are frequently the unknowns:
How long will it take until I can actually play something?
How much practice do I need to devote to this thing in order to achieve my goals?
Will I really be able to do this at all?
But violinists and guitarists both possess an advantage when migrating to the mandolin:
You already have skills that are directly transferred to that instrument!
The mandolin is tuned exactly like a violin. Thus violinists already know the fretboard.
And guitar players (most of you..) already know how to use a pick, and are familiar with fretting technique.
You’re Halfway There!
